Working Together

The Practice

A small group working the discipline together over a set arc – a working group, not an audience.

What this group practice holds is the discipline in common: seeing a situation honestly, telling what you have earned from what you have borrowed, and working a real decision – or a question about how an organisation judges itself – alongside and in collaboration with others doing the same.

Something is learned from another person working their case that cannot be learned from working only your own. Many find it most natural to come in through the organisational policy route – the standing rules of a place, how it holds itself to account – before the work comes to the individual.

Practice groups convene when there are enough of the right people, not on a calendar. The seat price starts at nil – for some online groups. If you’d like to be told when a group is forming, just let us know. That is the whole of it, and nothing is held or hurried.

The Practice – from £0 for some online groups

The Review

One consequential decision, examined. Before you make it, while it is being enacted, or after it is done – the same discipline in each tense.

The fee contains the whole of it. A scoping conversation, where we fix what is being examined and what will need to be seen. Preparation – reading what the decision actually rests on. Two working sittings, spaced apart, because the first one’s widening of the view needs time to work. The Reading – a written record, made with you, of what the examination found: what was in view and what never arrived; how the options actually stood; whether the act matched the order it was made under. It offers observations, not verdicts – no score, no grade, no recommendation. The decision stays yours; the record says what was seen.

And the return. Some weeks on, the Reading is re-opened on its named date and read again against what has moved. The return is part of the fee, not a follow-on sale.

A Review ends in one of three ways, and you will be told plainly which. Most end complete – the decision was worked, the record stands, nothing further is fitting. Some clients come back when the next hard decision arrives; the door stays open and nothing is scheduled.

And occasionally the situation itself has a standing shape – decision after consequential decision, or a question about the standing arrangement of things that a single look cannot answer. Then the standing work may be the right form. That is read at the return, as a question of fit, with the reasons given. It is refusable.

The Review – £3300

The Standing Work

For the seat where the decisions keep coming, and for the question a single sitting cannot read.

What it contains, exactly. One substantial working session each month, on the deciding actually in hand. Every Reading held living – re-opened on its dates, revised in the open, so that over a year you hold something genuinely rare: a maintained record of your own deciding, in your own words, watched over time. A bounded number of calls before the irreversible call – when a decision that cannot be undone is close. And once a year, a session about the work itself: whether this relationship is still earning its place.

It runs twelve months and then it is decided again, deliberately, in the open. It does not roll on. And ending well is the work succeeding, not failing – the aim includes your needing it less. If that reads strangely against what this kind of arrangement usually becomes, it is meant to.

The Standing Work – £3300 per month

The Terms – Plainly

No guaranteed outcome. You’re buying a way of seeing and a particular type of attention that builds it – not growth, not a win, not a result. The programme can’t promise where you’ll go; it can make you honest about where you are. Anyone who sold you the former would be the thing this exists to refuse – so we don’t.

Some refusals are the practice, so they are stated here rather than discovered later. This work does not advise, recommend, score, or predict. It reads how a decision is being made – not the domain it is made in, and not you. It brackets outcomes: a good decision can end badly and a bad one can be rescued by luck, and a record that judged you by results would be reading noise.

A settled way of operating cannot be pronounced sound. A working order, a quietly hardened one, and a wrong order served with discipline can look identical in a single sitting; only time tells them apart. That is what the re-opening dates are for – they are not an administrative courtesy, they are the only instrument that can read that layer at all. Anything that offers you the verdict in one visit is selling what cannot honestly be sold.

If you have met coaching: a good coach helps you toward the goals you set, and rarely questions them – that is their ethic, and a real one. Our work starts with the goals. If you have met decision science before: where debiasing aims to help fix how you calculate; this work starts as a read on what you are calculating toward.

Confidentiality runs both ways, and can include the fact of the engagement itself, if you wish. How this work can go wrong, and the guards on it, are published in our axios3 ethics charter. Better to read that page than take this one on trust.

How To Begin

One step: ask for a conversation – contact@axios3.com. It’s short, it’s about fit, and nothing is committed by having it.

Describe the decision, or the situation, in a paragraph – no preparation, no forms. There is no urgency on our side and there will be none manufactured. We talk; the conversation reads fit in both directions; and it may end with us naming someone or something better suited to what you actually need. That is the practice working, not a sale lost.
